Usually, my dreams are vivid and full of random things. I’m assuming everybody else has dreams as crazy as mine. I try not to pay so much attention to them, since I can never make sense of them. However, about 2 weeks ago, I dreamt of a dead bird. Honestly, it freaked me out. Out of all the things that I’ve dreamt, never a dead animal.

A bird full of life, happiness, and joy dead in my dream. How? I ended up searching Google, like Google has all the answers. One of the interpretation of the dead bird was “life as you know it, may be over.”

Don’t get me wrong, but for the start of the New Year, and everything that is going around in the world, that was the last message I wanted to read about my dream. I dismissed the search, and went around my day, however, feeling a bit weird about January, period.

24 hours later and my sister tests positive for that big C word everyone is exhausted about. It took her less than 8 hours for symptoms to get worse, and as I watched her via FaceTime, I could only pray that she would make it another night. Never have I experience desperation in my life and I kept thinking back of the dead bird. I never get caught up in dreams, but after six agonizing days of waiting for my sister to get better, I couldn’t help it. I kept wondering, thinking about that life change. Could this really be it? Do we just wait for change without having zero control?

Fortunately, my sister recuperated, and as I was celebrating her recovery and sharing with the world how awesome life can be when you have…
